How to Turn Your Life Around for the Better: At Any Age.
Age is just a number? Right?
Because we do face ups and downs in life at all ages. But as we grow, the downs come along in life-changing ways. If you are in the 20s or 30s now, you wouldn’t be the same at 50. The ups and downs of life also change accordingly.
What remains the same is your willingness and ability to deal with them. It’s up to you whether you choose to stay stuck or turn your life around for the better at any age. Even people in the final years of their life turn the ship around in new directions.
Having read at least 50 books on various topics all geared towards self-development and growth, having several setbacks in my career, and having experienced different life- changing situations and circumstances, I have learned a few things which I believe to be true.
Here are those powerful thoughts that can turn around your life too:

Try to live in the present- When you are busy concentrating on the past and future, you rob yourself of the present moment. Be here, right now, in the present. That is where real change begins. As I always say, the past and future are just an illusion. Focus a little less on them. Yes, it’s wise to plan for the future but not at the cost of today.
Change is the only constant thing- Life doesn’t always go as planned. Most of us end up in situations that we never expected. If you accept the changes happening in life, you can turn around anything. Don’t linger on to past failures or wallow in the things that were not according to your wishes.
It’s ok to get derailed- If you truly listen to what people have to say about their failures, you will see that everyone has their struggles. They just put up a good front. Derailment is no wrong turn or detour. In fact, you can see it as a new path instead of a hurdle and have an easier time facing it.
Enjoy the journey, don’t focus on the destination- Stay in touch with where you are instead of focusing on just where you are heading. Every single step has its own beauty and importance. Don’t miss these precious gems by getting ahead of yourself. The valuable experience is not in achieving, but in finding.
Take little steps- If you are turning around something big, take baby steps. Give yourself time and mini wins till you gain momentum. Patience has its way of resulting in beautiful outcomes. If you are giving even a single hour daily to anything, you are pursuing it. Don’t give up too soon.
The risk factor- Some risks are worth taking. If you are protecting yourself from failure, you are also protecting yourself from success and happiness. You may not succeed every time and that’s completely okay. It takes courage to face uncertainty and conquer your fears of failure.
Your company matters- Some people may weigh you down. Let them go. Surround yourself with the right people. You become like the people you surround yourself with. Your time and energy are precious. They shouldn’t be misspent on the wrong people.

Boost your confidence by doing the hard things- Do you want to stunt your development? No? Right. Nobody wants to do that. Then don’t be stuck in the same comfort zone. Avoid those excuses. Be comfortable with some level of discomfort.
Practice doing hard things, only then you will be able to do anything. Stretch those boundaries, don’t limit yourself. Starting a new business is hard, staying stuck in your job is hard. Choose your hard. Marriage is hard. Staying single is hard. Choose your hard. Start by taking little steps and be more productive gradually, specially when you have time in this quarantine.
Eliminate the negatives- When you are getting ahead, sometimes, you may see something holding you back. It’s not like the whole universe is working against you. It’s a degenerative environment.
You may need to fix your bad habits and those loose ends in your life.
There is no life hack to fix that. You have to identify your deficiencies and change your environment.
Afterthoughts:
Don’t let your age become a barrier to your development. Be remarkable and turn your life around the way you wanted to.
You can choose the easier path and keep living this familiar life. But where will it take you? Give it a thought. Efforts are hard, regret is hard. Again, choose your hard.
You just need to take the initial steps, the rest of the steps will fall in line and things will take their course. You need to trust and have faith in what you are doing…
