Top 10 Productive Things To Do In The Morning
Oh, mornings!
Some mornings everything goes perfect. You wake up without snoozing your alarm, enjoy the morning jog and coffee tastes the best. A great morning routine can set a productive tone for the rest of the day. Other days can be quite different and opposite. You may feel lazy and sleepy but still have to rush to office, struggling with traffic.
So, is there a way to have energized mornings? Do we have a morning ritual that sets the tone for rest of the day?
As per productivity experts, there are a few things that successful people do to start their day right…
- Wake up at your right time
I used to sleep until 11:00 am daily. It didn’t matter if I went to bed early or late. Eventually, I started realizing how lazy and energy-deprived I felt even after a few hours of waking up. Once I decided to start controlling my mornings, I started waking up earlier. I started by waking up at 9:00 am, and over the months I have started waking up earlier and earlier. Now I wake up at 7:00 am.
This wasn’t something that happened in a blink of an eye. It had to be planned. Here’s what I did and what you can do too:
- Make a gradual change.
- Reward yourself with coffee or a walk or any other thing that you enjoy.
- Start the day with something you are passionate about which may be reading, writing, even jogging.
2. Hydrate yourself
With or without lemon, drinking a glass or two of water in the morning is extremely beneficial for your body and mind. It hydrates you from a full night of sleep and gives you lasting energy all day long.
3. Have breakfast
Feed your body with the fuel for the day with a balanced first meal. Include high-quality proteins in your diet to kick start your day and never skip your breakfast.
4. Move around
Maybe it’s hard enough to just get out of bed, let alone hitting the gym. Though you don’t have to lift weights or go for a jog, simply moving around will get your blood flowing and help you get your day started. A mere 5 minutes of stretching will help you be more energetic and healthier.

5.Listen to music
Music makes you happier and enhances your performance. It lifts your mood for the day. So crank up the tunes and sing along!
6.Meditate
Meditation gives you alone time to ponder upon your thoughts and let them go if necessary. It helps you make peace with them. For beginners, I would recommend guided meditation through an app.

7. Distance yourself from electronics
We really can’t resist that urge to reach for our smart devices as soon as, or even before, we get out of bed. Don’t! Social media and those screens start sucking the energy out of you. It would all be drained before you know. Try postponing that activity for at least 15 minutes or so.
8.Avoid that snooze button
Waking up once is so difficult, then why do it multiple times? According to American Heart Association, hitting snooze can make you feel worse than getting up when the alarm first goes off. Set the time for when you need to wake up and get out of bed the very first time.
9. Plan your day
When you realize you’ve got a hectic day ahead, a little planning can go a long way. Have a look at your calendar and see what goals are set for today. Check your to-do list to execute a plan of action.
10. Practice gratitude
The power of gratitude can change your life. Feeling thankful for what you have can transform your whole idea of living. It inculcates a sense of contentment with what you have in life. You may start maintaining a journal, pay attention to small things, and be thankful as you carry out your routine activities.
